It is not often that one gets the opportunity to write a reference where it is difficult not to just gush with superlatives. It is our great pleasure to have just such an opportunity in describing our experience working with Mr. Joe Rodden and Ms. Elisabeth Eros. In January 1997 we retained the services of Mr. Rodden and Ms. Eros as our realtors. Words such as tireless, diligent, dedicated, and responsible are easy to use when describing Mr. Rodden & Ms. Eros as our search for our first house took eleven months and a total of seven bids. During the entire time Mr. Rodden & Ms. Eros never tried to influence us to settle, and every time we called with a question or concern our calls were promptly returned. We wouldn't learn until later what a rare quality that was. Being first time buyers we were not sure what to expect and with a volatile market there were many times of uncertainty and questioning. As with any large investment the fear of having paid too much is a very real concern. Mr. Rodden and Ms. Eros were very honest about the true value of the properties, and were readily available to check on the current market and long term trends. Working with Mr. Rodden and Ms. Eros was tantamount to working with trusted friends. When we would assess a house in terms of potential remodeling ideas, Mr. Rodden's experience with house codes and construction was accurate and reliable. We felt confident in the answers we were given and over time it became apparent that if we wanted the right answer it was best to ask Mr. Rodden. In addition, Mr. Rodden is committed to making sure all aspects of a sale go smoothly. We had retained the services of a mortgage broker who did not serve us well. Mr. Rodden stepped in and make sure we were able to finalize the loan papers in time and close as scheduled. This would not have happened without his expertise. While Mr. Rodden is an excellent guide, Ms. Eros served as the listener and intuit. Each time we visited a house Ms. Eros would watch and listen and in the end seemed to have a clear understanding of what we wanted. Ms. Eros was also the most accurate in her predictions regarding what it would take to get a particular house. On our first bid, the property was not substantial enough to sustain the asking price, so we offered a lower amount. Ms. Eros predicted we would not want to pay what the owner's were evidently intent upon receiving for their house. We eventually withdrew our offer and two months later the house sold for a price we would not have wanted to pay, just as Ms. Eros predicted. Before choosing Mr. Rodden and Ms. Eros as our realtors, we visited six other realtors with various companies, and while all of the other realtors were competent and friendly none were as professional or dependable as Mr. Rodden and Ms. Eros. When it is time to sell our house or purchase other property there is no question who our choice of realtors will be. Real estate is too expensive not to have the best representatives possible on the job. There is no question in our mind that Mr. Rodden and Ms. Eros are the best.
